Casual Summer Dress + Pattern Review – Simplicity 8132

Casual Summer Dress + Pattern Review - Rosy | Peña

Hello BEAUTIES! Happy FRIDAY! I hope the week was fun for you all and the weekend is even funner! 🙂 Today’s post is a quick review on a Simplicity pattern, I made only one modification to it and it came out nice and comfortable! I saw this dress style online for WAY too much and this pattern immedietly came to mind to make my own simple version of it. The fabric I used is very sheer so I definitely had to underline with the same fabric otherwise you’d see right through this! Pattern Review and Photos Below! XO

Pattern Description: Misses’ Tank Dress or Tunic, and Knit Bralette – Simplicity 8132

Pattern Sizing: 4-12, I cut size 6

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Similar!

Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like the pattern, especially View D.

Fabric Used: Polyester Chiffon from The Loft location in Los Angeles but you can find similar options in this category online.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: The only thing I did was cut at the hemline for View E and added a lower “ruffle”. Also I did not cut two separate fronts and two separate backs like the pattern suggests, I cut both on the fold.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew this again, it’s a good wardrobe builder if you like comfortable dresses you can make this in solid colors to pair with more things and the bralette pattern is not a must for this, it is cool that it’s included but not needed to wear the dress.

  1. Soooo cute! I was looking at this pattern for the shorter version but your version on the longer one makes it more appealing. I love the added ruffle! Another great make!

  2. Very pretty! I love the fabric and fun, summery look of the print! I don’t have very many dresses like this and I think it’s about time for a change! Beautiful work Rosy!
