On to day’s outfit post and pattern review! How amazing is this JUMPSUIT!? It gives me a retro vibe in the denim fabric and I have to say I was really “feeling” how I looked in it! It’s super comfortable and was an easy make, start to finish I say I probably took a total of 4 hours to complete and I was really taking my time with it. The belt I added does not come with the pattern but I talk more about it in the review below! I hope you all are doing well, I’ve missed sharing content here on the blog but I have some great things lined up, so stay tuned! Enjoy today’s outfit post! XO

Pattern Description: The pattern has two leg options (wide leg and slim cuffed leg) Pattern also has front pockets with flaps, a center front invisible zipper, collar and cuffed sleeve option – 1001 PDF JUMPSUIT, MIMI G STYLE.

Pattern Sizing: 0 – 18, I cut size 4.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes! 🙂

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, I followed along with the video sew-along that comes with the PDF download.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the flare legged style and since I  made a flare leg jumpsuit recently I figured I would try the tapered leg option! Boy, am I glad I did! 🙂 I’m going to get good use from the pattern and it only comes with 6 pieces so it’s not a tough make at all! YAY!

Fabric Used: Floral non-stretch Denim found at Jo-ann Fabrics. The pattern suggests stretch fabrics but can be made from wovens as well! 🙂

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I sewed my sleeve with 1/4″ seam allowance as opposed to the 5/8″ suggested. Simply because my arms are wider than normal for my body shape, I basted and tried the sleeve on prior to setting it in and found the 1/4″ worked better for me. I also added a self fabric belt made from the belt in McCall’s 7546. The pattern looks so nice with belts! I almost forgot, I also shaved about 1/2″ from the hip area, I’m not as curvy as I would like! After that it fit like a glove! 🙂

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes! I highly recommend the pattern. If you are newer to sewing this would be a great piece to get your feet wet, the designer (Mimi G) provides sew-along videos included with the purchase. The pattern has the option of stretch fabrics so that allows some additional fitting room! I suggest giving both looks a go, even if you are more fond of one over the other! XO

  1. Hi Rosy…really like your version of this jumpsuit. Question…did you shorten the leg to just below the knee??…I really like that detail:)

    1. Hi there! I’m glad you like this version! I did not shorten the leg, I followed the directions in the sew-along for folding in a cuff detail at the hem and that is where the pattern fell on my body. I’m sure you can tweak the pattern a bit if it doesn’t fall exactly where you like, Thank you for your comment! XO
