Print Maxi Dress + Pattern Review – McCall’s 7409

Hello Beauties! Happy Monday! 🙂 I hope everyone had a great weekend. You can count on the fact that I spent some of my weekend sewing 😉 I had my eyes on this lovely pattern since I first saw it released from the latest McCall’s Summer Collection 2016. I was planning to sew up the jumpsuit on the cover but when my sister and I we’re browsing Joann’s fabric last week we spotted this awesome tribal/ethnic print fabric and for sure needed to sew up a maxi with it! It was in the discounted section and I’m not 100% sure on the fabric type but I’m almost positive it’s a Crepe De Chine! Pattern Review Below! Enjoy! XOXO

Pattern Description: Misses’ Overlay-Bodice Dresses, Romper and Jumpsuit, McCall’s 7409.

Pattern Sizing: 6-14, I cut size 8.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes! 🙂

Were the instructions easy to follow? Perfectly clear.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that you have a maxi or jumper option.

Fabric Used: Crepe De Chine, found at Joann’s Fabrics & could not find online anywhere to link it!

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added a 2″ hem.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes I want to make the jumpsuit version of this!

  1. I am considering this pattern as it looks awesome. How are the bottom and top attached to each other??

    1. The skirt piece is gathered and attached to the underlay of the top portion. It all comes together with a zipper at the center back. It’s a great pattern I have the jumpsuit version on my list as well!

    1. Loretta, your comment really warmed my heart! It feels great to get positive feedback! Thank you SO much! Comments like yours do keep me inspired to keep up the work. XO!
