Hello Beauties! We’re halfway through the week! I hope it’s going smoothly for you all! 🙂 I recently made a few fabric purchases with Mood Fabrics and Fabric.com and I figured I’d make today’s post a haul and let you know my thoughts on the two companies and the FABRICS! Some of you may be familiar with either or both of these places, if so please share your own thoughts and opinions on your experiences! Thank you! Enjoy the post!
💖 SHOP MY PATTERNS: ROSYPENAPATTERNS.COM 💖
We’ll begin with what I picked up from MOOD! I was most excited to order from them because it was my first time shopping with them & I’ve heard nothing but good things prior to ordering! I would love to step foot in one of their locations! Mood Fabrics are most popular for being seen in episodes of “Project Runway” “Project Runway All Stars” etc. this is the shop where the designers get to spend their fabric money and bring their designs to life! My package arrived in a box and here lied my package inside, fabrics were neatly folded and placed in this mood bag along with a thank you note and a coupon for a future purchase! Also nicely placed inside were these cute little “Made with Mood” tags to sew in the garment, how ADORABLE!
Okay so this piece here, is a Floral Stretch Cotton Sateen and it’s AMAZING! I honestly don’t even want to cut into it I just want to stare at it all day! Lol. Sewing plans for this are undecided!
I also picked up this Floral Printed Cotton Blend. Honestly the bright colors are not what I’d normally go for but something about this spoke to me. I think I want to make a spring style coat with this but my plans change on a regular basis though so we shall see what becomes of this gorgeous fabric!
Lastly from Mood, I got this Yellow Stretch Cotton Poplin, here. Again, not what I’d normally go for! I’m trying to step out of my neutral bubble and go for more “exciting things” lol. Not quite sure what I want to do with this yet.
A little bonus from mood fabrics was being able to get these free swatches! They have a deal where for every ten dollars you spend you receive one free swatch (up to five free swatches, and must be $1 swatches, if you choose a swatch that is priced $5 you do not receive it gratis). I took advantage of this and ordered swatches that were calling my name! It’s so awesome to be able to feel the fabrics and see them in person before you commit!
Swatches: (Left to right) Purple Shantung, Rose Printed Stretch Cotton Poplin, Neon Coral and Lavender Tweed, Animal Print Silk Charmeuse, Abstract Jacquard.
I have ordered from fabric.com once before and don’t let my excitement for mood fool you, fabric.com is pretty AMAZING too! I’d say it’s a more cost friendly alternative if you are on a budget but still want quality fabrics. The fabrics come neatly packaged and individually wrapped in plastic which I can totally appreciate! If you’ve ever ordered from somewhere and your fabrics have arrived thrown in a random box. You can relate. It feels good to know someone took the time to label and package your fabrics. 🙂 One added plus with this company is you get FREE shipping on orders of $35 or more!
This little beauty is a Crepe De Chine, HERE. Made of 100% polyester and nicely priced at about $5 per yard when I purchased. I have already cut into this fabric and can not wait to show you what I’ve made with it 🙂
This fabric found HERE is another Crepe De Chine. I will be honest when I ordered this I was not 100% in love, it was a bit of a try to get myself out of my comfort zone short of thing. I still don’t know what I want to make with this but it will be coming soon!
THIS lovely bohemian print black and white fabric is totally my style. I love the design of the print. I have already sewn something up with this fabric and again, can’t wait to show you! 🙂
Oh THIS lovely Faux Suede, it was the most costly thing I bought in my haul from fabric.com at a whopping $7.18/yard. I mean really how cool 🙂 I have not sewn with faux suede before ordering from here so I can’t compare with other faux suedes from other companies but I did cut into this already and found it was pretty cool to work with.
That was the entire Fabric Haul for today! I really hope you enjoyed! My overall opinion for the two places is basically this, the quality is there in both companies it’s all about personal preference on what you are looking for! I look forward to hauling more fabrics and letting you all know my thoughts on them! Enjoy the rest of your day!
